Genome typing of adenovirus type 34 isolated in two cases of conjunctivitis in Sapporo, Japan.

چکیده
Two cases of conjunctivitis caused by adenovirus type 34 (Ad34) are reported. The isolates were identified as Ad34 by the neutralization test and the PCR-sequence method of the hexon gene but as Ad14 by PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis. The genome types of these two isolates were identical to that of Ad34a.

Genome analysis of adenovirus type 4 strains isolated from acute conjunctivitis in Japan.
Strains of adenovirus type 4 (Ad4) isolated from patients with acute conjunctivitis were studied by DNA restriction analysis. The strains were isolated between July and December 1990 in Japan. All 63 isolates of Ad4 were identified as the genome type Ad4a. This study showed that the same Ad4 genome type, Ad4a, caused acute viral conjunctivitis, even in different areas of Japan.
متن کاملNew genome type of adenovirus serotype 4 caused nosocomial infections associated with epidemic conjunctivitis in Japan.
Human adenovirus type 4 is one of the major serotypes isolated from patients with adenoviral conjunctivitis. In 2001 we encountered nosocomial infections with epidemic conjunctivitis in the ophthalmology ward of one hospital in Sapporo, which is in the northern part of Japan. Adenoviruses were isolated from the patients with this nosocomial infection and identified as adenovirus type 4 (AdV-4) ...
متن کاملGenome variability of human adenovirus type 8 causing epidemic keratoconjunctivitis during 1986-2003 in Japan
PURPOSE Epidemic keratoconjunctivitis (EKC) is a contagious acute conjunctivitis associated with community-acquired infection. Human adenovirus type 8 (HAdV-8) is one of the major serotypes isolated from patients with EKC. DNA restriction enzyme analyses were performed to investigate the genetic characteristics of the isolates and their chronological pattern. METHODS Viral samples were taken ...
متن کاملClinical and aetiological study of adenoviral conjunctivitis, with special reference to adenovirus types 4 and 19 infections.
The clinical and aetiological findings are presented on 343 patients with clinical adenoviral conjunctivitis treated between July 1979 and July 1980 at 3 eye clinics in Sapporo. The age of the patients ranged from 12 days to 79 years, and the monthly incidence of the disease from 9 to 83, with clustering in the summer season. The aetiological diagnosis was established in 196 (57%) of 343 patien...
متن کاملGenome analysis of adenovirus type 3 isolated in Japan.
Adenovirus type 3 (Ad3) isolates, isolated from 45 patients with acute conjunctivitis during the year 1990 in Japan, were studied by DNA restriction enzyme analysis with restriction endonucleases recognizing 6-bp sequences (BamHI, SmaI, HindIII, BglII) and endonucleases recognizing 5- or 4-bp sequences (HinfI and TaqI). All 45 isolates of Ad3 were identified as the genome type Ad3f by six endon...
